Built by the early Indians, its rock cairns have lined up with the sunrising and sunsetting, each summer solstice for centuries. Its 28 spokes may represent the 28 days of the luner cycle. On the center cairn lies an old buffalo skull. It is said that Indian Chiefs Sitting Bull of the Hunkpapa Sioux and Joseph of the Nez Perce have visited the site. To this day the land mark is revered by many Indian tribes as a sacred place for prayer offerings and vision quests. It truly is an "INDIAN TIME KEEPER". ![]() |

The curved drawer fronts are of cherry and magnolia wood laid up solid to make the sun symbol. There are two drawers on each side. The legs are juniper wood as are the two sides and bottom apron. The bottom shelf is cherry wood with the knife cut arrows pointing to North, South, East and West in proper position with the medicine wheel on top. Each drawer is positioned on East and West. This portrays the sun rising and setting. The Indian arrow drawer pulls are from actual Indian arrow head artifacts. |
